Guns and Knives and.......Quilts???

Early in January of 2008, we had an idea for a to support the troops in a tangible way. How about a patriotic themed quilt for the Coopersville Farm Museum's Quilt Walk, that could be auctioned for the benefit of a military support charity. We contacted serious quilter Kathy Boomgaard and presented our idea: How about the gun shop pay for materials, she provide labor, and the result benefit our military troops in a tangible way? A deal was agreed upon, and work started.

Stars and Circles and Stripes...A striking palate of colors and shapes with a centerpiece consisting of a stylized flag. Bids, starting at $500 will be taken until September 30. They are welcomed from all quarters...This is a charity auction to assist our brave volunteers as they work for our nation. All funds received will be donated to Fisher House Foundation. www.fisherhouse.org
